SRT contribution and delivery
Outcome
Section titled “Outcome”An SRT signal will connect to a Flow Manager input and route to one or more outputs with the required latency, bandwidth, encryption, and Stream ID settings.
Signal Flow

accTitle: SRT contribution and delivery signal flow
accDescr: A contribution encoder sends SRT to a flow engine. The engine sends SRT to a remote destination and WHEP to browser monitoring.

Before You Begin
Section titled “Before You Begin”- Decide which endpoint will be the caller and which will be the listener for each connection.
- Confirm the listener is reachable on the selected port.
- Agree on latency, maximum bandwidth, passphrase, key length, and Stream ID where used.
- Confirm the flow engine reports
ready.
Choose Caller and Listener
Section titled “Choose Caller and Listener”Use Caller on the endpoint that initiates the connection to a known remote host. Use Listener on the endpoint that waits for the remote caller. Studio fixes a listener’s host to 0.0.0.0.
A caller still needs a reachable listener. Confirm routing, firewall, cloud security-group, and address translation behavior before the show.
- Create a flow on the intended engine.
- Add an SRT input.
- Set caller or listener mode, port, latency, and maximum bandwidth.
- If encryption is required, enter the same passphrase and key length used by the other endpoint.
- Enter the expected Stream ID if the receiving service uses one for routing.
- Add and configure the required output. It can use a different SRT caller/listener relationship from the input.
- Select Copy URL where a generated address is useful for the other system.
- Start the input, output, and flow.
Verify
Section titled “Verify”- Confirm the input and output report an active state.
- Check available uptime and bitrate statistics.
- Confirm stable picture and audio at the destination.
- Test the path long enough to expose likely network variation.
- Perform a controlled reconnect before show day.
Shutdown Checklist
Section titled “Shutdown Checklist”- Confirm the destination has finished recording or delivery.
- Stop the SRT output and input.
- Stop the flow.
- Stop unused billable machines and verify their state.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”If the connection does not establish, compare caller/listener mode, host, port, encryption, and Stream ID on both ends before increasing latency. See An SRT connection won’t establish. For connection-mode, latency, and maximum-bandwidth guidance, see SRT settings.
